About 52 Ghanaian citizens of have been deported from the United States of America and from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia according to reports. The Ghana Immigration Service received 40 Ghanaian deportees from United States of America and 12 from the kingdom of Saudi Arabia over the weekend. Reports say they have been deported to their birth countries based on offenses ranging from vehicle theft, assault, trafficking of illegal drugs, domestic violence, fraud, burglary and other related crimes they committed.
The 12 who have also been deported from Saudi Arabia were all females. Reports say they have also been deported due to illegal stay. They fall between the ages of 20 to 30. They are believed to be leavers of junior high and senior high school, working as domestic house help, fuel attendants and storekeepers.
A statement issued by Barbara Sam in charge of public relations at the Kotoka International Airport revealed the deportees comprises of 38 males and 2 females arrived on board a US chattered flight, Omni Air International Boeing 777-OAE 328.
The statement also said 16 of the deportees were from Grater Accra, 10 from the Ashanti Region, 3 from Volta Region and 2 from the Brong-Ahafo Region.
