Few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a country lockdown. The prime minister said the lockdown was in quest to curb rapid spread of covid-19 in India. He noted that no one would be venturing out of their homes thereafter.
Modi revealed that all citizens of India should not panic and that, the Indian government, his administration have put measures in place to cater for everyone in their various homes.
Well that promise seems to manifest fast as pictures and videos circulate on social media of bank officials visit homes to deliver funds to pension beneficiaries.
Below is a picture of the team distributing funds across India, taking precautionary measures and to keep social distancing, wearing of masks and gloves as directed by public health officials.
Kadakampally Surendran who is part of the team noted that the government is a responsible one and has the priority to strengthen the public health system. “Central government has the responsibility to strengthen the public health distribution system, announce funds to the state and institute comprehensive financial packages. Just telling people to take of themselves and others is running away from responsibility” he posted on his Twitter feed India is doing just fine and with solidarity, we have them in our thoughts and prayers
