Russia is already preparing for a mass coronavirus vaccination campaign in October according to reports. Health Minister of Russia, Mikhail Murashko revealed his plan to be able to carry out this exercise on October.
The Minister explained that a state research facility in Russia’s capital, Moscow, the Gamaleya institute had already successfully completed clinical trials on teachers and doctors and procedures are currently ongoing to get it registered.
Russia’s developed vaccine is expected to be approved August this month, anonymous sources told Reuters news but some experts have raised concerns on the development. Some have argued that Russia has rushed to develop coronavirus vaccine without ensuring it is very safe for use. According to some experts, Russia’s main purpose is for public prestige and global recognition.
