Turkey’s President Erdogan calls for boycott of French goods after Emmanuel Macron’s statement against Islam

President of Turkey Erdogan has called for a boycott of all French goods after President of France, Emmanuel Macron’s statement against Islam. The president has accused Macron and Europe of treating Muslims the same way it treated Jew before world war 2.

“You are in a real sense fascists, you are in a real sense the links in the chain of Nazism. Muslims are now subjected to a lynch campaign similar to that against Jews in Europe” Ricep Erdogan said in his speech on Monday in Ankara.

Emmanuel Macron said “France will not give up on cartoons” after one teacher Samuel Paty was beheaded for showing cartoons of Proohet Mohammed to children. “He has accused radical Islamists of stealing the future” and being the root cause of terrorism across the globe. His comments came with backlash from all walks of life. Football star, Paul Pogba has also retired from the French national team after Macron’s statement.

President Erdogan has called all world leaders to protect muslims in his speech on Monday. Also calling them to boycott French products. According to reports,  boycott of French goods are already underway in some parts of the world, eg. Kuwait and Qatar as we speak.
