Ghana’s former Auditor General Daniel Domelevo has been appointed by European union as External Auditor. The news was first confirmed by one local news media house in Ghana mynewsgh.
Mr Daniel Domelevo has been asked by current president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo to go on leave for almost 170days, only to return to work to be told he had to resign based on issues regarding his age. This sparked conversation among Ghanaians. To many, this move by the board and the presidency is just to shield some government officials. Mr Domelevo is noted to be a man of bold character who wants to fight corruption in his tenure as Auditor General. He has been accused of not being a Ghanaian citizen but a Togolese according to Ghana’s Audit board.
Daniel Domelevo can be assigned to work in any country which is a member of the European union but close sources say he may just be assigned to work in Ghana since he’s well endowed with Ghanaian local Audit practices and also an experienced character in that regard. We wish him well.
