Prime Minister of United Kingdom Boris Johnson has been hospitalized after exhibiting continues symptoms of coronavirus he contracted about ten days ago.

Mr. Boris Johnson tested positive for coronavirus last week. On his Twitter feed, the prime minister revealed he tested positive and has self-isolated. He however noted that, he was in good health and will be working from his confined abode. But this seems to be shattered as he was rushed to the hospital today for treatment.

According to a Dawning street spokesperson, this move is a precautionary step as the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms. “This is a precautionary step as the prime minister continues to have persistent symptoms of coronavirus ten days after testing positive for the virus” the spokesperson said in a statement.

We wish him speedy recovery.

John Alagos, a young handsome 23year old nurse has died in the United Kingdom. Reports say John was exposed to coronavirus patients on duty after a 12hour shift without the right protective kit.

According to Daily Mail,  John Alagos fell ill looking after coronavirus patient at Watford General Hospital but stayed on the help because his ward was short staffed.

John’s mom who’s 50years old told Daily Mail she asked her son why he didn’t come home . “I asked, why didn’t you come home. He said he had asked other staff but they said they were short of staff and they did not let him go. But just minutes later i found him unconscious and “turning blue” in his bed” Ms Gustilo said in grief.


Few days ago, a nurse died because of shortage of protective equipment for frontline health workers. John Alagos’s demise has made so many across UK asking how many will lose their lives in the line of duty before all frontliners are given protective equipments


May John Alagos’s soul and all who have died in this trying times rest in perfect peace.

As of today 4th is April 2020, death toll of covid-19 patients scale up to 8,347 with 306,750 cases and 14,450 recoveries in the United States of America.

Morgue staff, Lisa Kilfeather said her team is very exhausted. She noted that families of the deceased can no longer attend the morgue to even say goodbye.

According to her, the rate at which people are losing their lives amids this covid-19 pandemic is very alarming to the extent that staff are having to Facetime the bereaved with their bodies.

On normal working days, Lisa Kilfeather does administrative duties at the morgue at Long Island, Jewish Medical Centre. But that has changed because there are so many bodies coming, and she’s been drafted to assist. Her small team works seven days a week, processing and examining victims of covid-19.

Lisa revealed that she hasn’t seen her daughter for almost three weeks. Added that, she’s scared she might infect her little daughter anytime she come close to her because she’s been working very closely with the bodies of people who have died from coronavirus.


“I first let her see me so I could explain what she’s going to see. We cant keep the  bodies the way we normally do as far as sheets. It was in a body bag  and you are seeing the face. So that was difficult,  I’m not going to lie, I cried. It was tough”

“But if we could do at least one thing to make this hard time for them a little easier, that’s what we’re going to do. No matter how crazy our day is, and how much work we have to get it done” she said with sadness.

“We’re physically exhausted,  we’re mentally exhausted. Lisa said.

Newly born twin babies have been named Corona and Covid in India. The baby girl and boy were born by caesarean on the 27th of March at India’s hospital in Raipur.


Preeti Verma who is the mother of the twin babies said the two names are very unique and symbolizes triumph over hardships.

“The delivery happened after facing several difficulties and therefore my husband and I wanted to make the name memorable. Indeed the virus is dangerous and life threatening but its outbreak made people focus on sanitation, hygiene and inculcate other good habits, thus we thought about these names” mother Preeti Verma revealed.

India is in its second week of coronavirus lockdown to help curb the rapid spread across the country. Prime minister of India,  Narendra Modi said this was the only way to contain the deadly virus.


According to Indian news outlet  NDTV, the couple who already have a two year old daughter struggled to get to the hospital in time for Verma to deliver amid the lockdown


Preeti noted that, no vehicular movement was allowed on the roads due to the covid-19 lockdown.

“As no vehicular movement was allowed on the roads due to the lockdown,  we were stopped by police at various places but they let us go after noticing my condition. I was wondering what would have happen in the hospital as it was midnight, but fortunately doctors and other staff were very  cooperative” she said

Dr Congo has agreed for vaccines from the United States of America, Canada and China to be tested in her motherland.  As we speak, Africa has the lowest number of cases as compared to Europe, North and South America and Asia.


One Congolese official, Jean Jacques Muyembe has disclosed in a press briefing

Africa currently has close to 7100 cases across its continent with death toll at 284. America alone has over 277,000 cases as we speak with death toll at 7000 plus. Both Italy and Spain have 119,000 cases with death toll close to 14000 and 12000 respectively.

With this statistics of huge number of cases reported in the west and Asia, people don’t understand why Africa should be a place where vaccines should be tested.


Most Africans are not happy with this new development. Some don’t even understand why Dr Congo should accept this offer.

In our quest to fighting the global pandemic coronavirus which has spread with unseen speed and ferocity forcing the cancellation of major events and academic institutions, sending the world into self-quarantine in an attempt to curb the spread, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC), Dr. Kasim Ahmed Sisago has suggested that government should consider involving herbal medicine practitioners in the fight of the coronavirus. In a press statement, calling on the president to consider his suggestions, revealed that many countries are seriously conducting research to discover vaccine for covid-19 disease of which about 35 companies and academic institutions are creating vaccine in their bid to fight the virus. Health experts, scientists and researchers have been trying to get remedy to cure the covid-19 and many different treatment methods have been proposed and some old medicines like the chloroquine.

However, before the advent of modern technology, doctors and patients had to rely surely on natural techniques and herbal remedies to treat illness. And if government is consider employing the services of local herbal practitioners in the country in the fight of covid-19, will not only provide solutions but offer them opportunity to discover likable remedies which will help enhance the immune system of patients against infectious diseases. Herbal medicine has gain grounds in the country and is now prescribing for patients in the hospitals which are commendable.

History has it that, herbal medicines have been used throughout the beginning of human creation and play a pivotal role in the prevention and treatment of various kind of diseases. And the World Health Organisation reveal that; 80% of people in the world uses herbal medicine for primary health care signifies the efficiencies of herbal medicine.

Dr. Kasim averred that the world is trying all hands for efficacy remedy hence; we have to use all available means and structures in our disposal not to induce further spread of the coronavirus. The Ghana Medical Association, the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo and all able persons who have influence in the society must act with speed and decisiveness to garner swift results in our expedition to combat the novel coronavirus.

1,480 people have lost their lives in the United states of America within 24hours to deadly coronavirus according to AFP news agency.

This number is the highest to be recorded within 24hours since the start of coronavirus.


With 1,480 deaths counted between 8:30pm on Thursday and the same time on Friday, according to the university’s continuesly updated figures,  the total number of people who have died since the start of the pandemic in the United States of America now rises to 7,406 considering this new development. AFP news agency has reported.

The US is seriously battling the coronavirus pandemic with over 209,000 Americans being victimized. America’s Centre for Disease Control, CDC noted that Trump administration is doing the best to slow the rapid spread of covid-19.

Some governors and senators are  proposing total lockdown of America to curb the rapid spread of the disease. But it appears to be very difficult. As of last week, over 6.6 Americans filed for unemployment, exerting much pressure on the government.

CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin announced on Friday, 3rd of April announced that she tested positive for covid-19. Baldwin who on normal days works out of CNN’s Manhattan Bureau says she’s just OK and that she’s been experiencing fever, chills and aches. She said she’s just one of the very lucky ones.


The journalist made the announcement on her Instagram page on Friday.

“Hi friends, I have tested positive for coronavirus. I am ok. It came on suddenly yesterday afternoon. Chill, aches,  fever. I have been social distancing, doing all the things we’ve been told to do. Still – it got me. No underlying conditions. Honesty, I feel like one of the lucky ones. I look forward to being back on television and seeing you real soon. And shout out to the doctors and nurses who are doing the real work right now  sending love” She posted with emojis.

Brooke’s case came days after CNN host Chris Cuomo announced he tested positive for the coronavirus.

North African country, Tunisia has deployed police robots as patrols amid coronavirus crisis. The police robots have been deployed to patrol areas of Tunis, the capital city of Tunisia.


The robots are projected as spies and they spy on anyone who walks along largely deserted streets. And they question people why they’re out. Tunisia’s government has instructs all citizens to stay home but also allows them to buy drugs and other basic necessities to cater for themselves in their various homes.


Tunisia currently has about 436 cases of coronavirus. There is currently over 7000 covid-19 cases across Africa now with death toll at 284. In Tunisia, the robots ask you why you are out and then people must show their identification cards and all necessary documents to the robots camera. Police officers controlling the robots can check them within their stations.


Tunisia’s interior ministry posted a video on their Facebook page, telling the world about this new innovation amids this perilous times.  According to the ministry,  its main purpose is to impose restrictions and to deploy these robots to assist.

Many Tunisians welcome the initiative but some say the robots do not move very fast hence making them ineffective but it’s all good, they noted.

Several videos have gone viral on social media of robots “PGuard stopping people and asking them questions.


The remote controlled robot has a thermal imaging camera which uses  Lidar technology.

Business magnate Jeff Bezos is donating $100 billion United States food banks. This is in quest to help them feed a growing number of “out of work” Americans who are said to have been losing their jobs during the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Just last week,  over 6.6 million Americans filed for unemployment. Reports say the number does not include people who were already on unemployment before the covid-19 pandemic. This development is very alarming at this level of pandemic.


Jeff Bezos who is Amazon’s CEO donated to Feeding America, a  Chicago based nonprofit organisation with more than 200 food banks across the United states of America.

The billionaire posted a picture of one food banks on his Instagram feed with the the caption “even in ordinary times, food insecurity in American households is an important problem, and unfortunately covid-19 is amplifying that stress ” he said


He also explained that, most restaurants are closed and churches who are supposed to provide free meals have also closed due to social distancing amids this terrible times.


This is not the first time Jeff Bezos has donated to a covid-19 relief effort. Jeff was one of the dozens of donors to contribute to the “All in Seattle coalition” that funds the charitable causes security, housing and food. This was done on the 23rd of March.


The CEO of Feeding America, Claire  Babineaux Fintenot revealed that this donation is the largest single donation in the NGO’s history. “This donation, the largest single gift in our history, will enable us to provide more food to millions of our neighbors facing hardship during this crisis” she said.
