America’s Press secretary, Mike Pompeo in July hinted Chinese video firm TikTok may be banned in the United States. His statement generated so much controversy among Americans and Chinese. Just yesterday,  President Trump hinted he’s banning the Chinese video sharing app in America.

Microsoft has developed interest in the app and wants to buy the app from ByteDance, the mother company for TikTok according to reports but that deal may never see the light as U.S security officials have raised concerns that the app could be used to collect private information from Americans.

TikTok already has over 80million subscribers in the United States alone and the ban may just be disastrous for ByteDance. The decision to ban the app comes at a point where there’s rising tensions between China and America. Trump’s administration ordered Chinese Houston Consulate to be shut down, a move China retaliated by shutting down U.S General Consulate in Chengdu.

There’re a number of issues including coronavirus spread across the world and trade conflicts as well. India has already banned TikTok after her border tensions between China.

“As far as TikTok is concerned, we’re banning them from the United States” Trump told news reporters

News reaching,  a marketing company indicates that, over 600 former boko haram militants have gone through re-orientation to be able to start a new life in Nigeria.

About 601 members of terrorist Organization,  boko haram,  have gone through reintegration processes to recup them into Nigerian societies. Pictures have gone viral on social media platforms on how this is being carried out.

Social activists and other civil groups across the globe have condemned the decision by the Nigerian government. To some, a snake remains a snake and very harmful even after they shed its skin. The fact that these group of people were once members of this terror group remains undisputed and they’ll live with this for the rest of their lives. Just imagine the number of damage they have caused to families by taken lots of lives in the past. Well who knows what they even do now.

Does this even guarantee them of repentance? Isn’t it very weird to see some of these people in town. The psychological trauma this may cause will be unbearable for some families. Isn’t it better for them to languish in jail for the rest of their lives?

A lot of questions but answers are definitely very few as usual or better still, no answers at all. This is the situation across Africa. Maybe the Nigerian government might just be promoting terrorism. Or perhaps the government must give a reasonable explanation for this unfortunate development

Parliament of Israel on July 22 voted in favour to ban gay conversion therapy. The gay conversion therapy ban bill was passed by Israeli MP’s. They have agreed on the motion to outlaw the practice by psychologists.

Israel has become the first Middle East country to take this bold step. As a pace setter in regard to the practice of spirituality, religion, faith etc. They have done it again and we wait to see if other nations can also emulate Israel’s bold step.

The bill was still passed all though orthodox lawmakers suggested the move will could shake up the already fragile fault lines of the country’s coalition government. The opposition led bill was voted for by members of the centrist Blue and White block as well as security minister,  Amir Ahana of the ruling Lukid party, going against the rest of the coalition.

The Knesset parliament of Israel approved the bill in its Wednesday parliamentary reading 42 for the motion and 36 against.
